This is a compact auto-start delay switch specially designed for use with push-button type submersible starter panels (DOL-type starters). It automates the manual push-button start process by momentarily shorting the start button circuit for approximately 2 seconds, simulating a manual press.
It has two input terminals:
Phase (P)
Neutral (N)
This device can be triggered by any water level controller, WiFi switch, or smart timer to automatically start your pump without physically pressing the start button.
Connect Phase and Neutral to the respective input terminals of the delay switch.
The Start button on your starter panel usually has 4 terminals:
2 terminals go to the contactor coil
2 terminals go to the starting capacitor
This delay switch provides two output lines for each pair:
S1 & S2: Connect across the contactor coil side of the START button.
C1 & C2: Connect across the starting capacitor side of the START button.
When the switch receives power (either manually or via controller), it:
Shorts S1–S2 and C1–C2 simultaneously (just like someone pressing the START button).
Holds the short for ~2 seconds to energize the contactor and the starting capacitor.
Opens the connection after 2 seconds, allowing the starter panel to take over.
Connect the delay switch power input (Phase/Neutral) through the output of your water level controller or WiFi switch.
When the controller decides to turn ON the motor, it powers this switch.
The switch triggers the push button START automatically for 2 seconds.
The motor starts, and the starter holds the contactor.
Compatible with any push-button-based submersible starter panel
Works with standard or smart controllers
No modifications required in your starter panel
Safe and reliable method to automate manual start
Ideal for automation upgrades without replacing the full panel
