Functional Description

This controller automates the water pumping from government or municipal supply directly to the overhead tank, using an inline sensor for water detection and three sensors in the tank for level control. It features dry run protection and a post-off sleep delay to avoid false restarts due to backflow.

Terminals and Connections

  • G and R → Connect to Inline Water Sensor (not common lines)

  • R and R1 → Common ground sensor line (Overhead Tank)

  • G1 → Low-Level Sensor (Motor ON trigger)

  • B1 → High-Level Sensor (Motor OFF trigger)

  • INPUT Terminal → AC 230V Phase and Neutral

  • OUTPUT Terminal → Motor Phase and Neutral

Installation Instructions

1. Inline Sensor Setup

  • Connect one wire of the inline sensor to terminal G

  • Connect the other wire to terminal R

  • When water touches the inline sensor, motor turns ON immediately.

  • If water stops flowing or does not touch the sensor continuously for 1 minute, the motor turns OFF (Dry Run Protection).

  • The G LED on the controller indicates water flow status:

    • ON → Water is flowing

    • OFF → No water is detected (line is dry)

2. Overhead Tank Sensor Setup

  • R1 → Bottom of the tank (connect to common R line)

  • G1 → Low-level point in the tank (Motor ON trigger)

  • B1 → High-level point (Motor OFF trigger)

3. Power Wiring

  • Connect AC 230V Phase and Neutral to the INPUT terminal

  • Connect motor wires to the OUTPUT terminal

⚠️ Do not use multi-capacitor or push button starters.
⚠️ Only use with direct ON/OFF switch starter type.

Working Logic

  1. When water is detected by the inline sensor, motor turns ON.

  2. If water is not detected for a continuous 1 minute, motor turns OFF (dry run).

  3. Once the tank is full (B1 sensor active), motor turns OFF.

  4. A 40-second sleep timer activates after motor OFF — during this time, motor will not restart even if inline sensor detects water again (prevents false triggering from backflow).

  5. When tank reaches low level (G1 sensor active), and water is present, the motor starts again.

Optional: Overhead Tank Only Setup

If no sump or underground tank is used:

  • Short terminals G, R, and B inside the controller (simulate full sump).

  • This makes the controller work only for overhead tank.

  • The G and B LEDs will remain ON permanently, indicating simulated full condition of the underground tank.

Installation Tips

  • Use 1 mm 3-core copper wire for connecting sensors.

  • Mount the inline sensor in a proper inline pipe section where water flow is clearly detectable.

  • Ensure all sensors are firmly fixed, not floating in water.

  • Keep wiring joints secure and moisture-free.

Safety Instructions

  • Always turn OFF the power before wiring or maintenance.

  • Installation should be done by a qualified electrician.

  • Do not exceed 2 HP motor capacity.

  • Do not modify circuit connections.

Maintenance Guidelines

  • Clean sensor probes every 4–6 months to remove scaling or sediment.

  • Check inline sensor regularly for clogging or dirt.

  • Inspect wiring connections for corrosion or looseness.
